Women's Health And Cancer Rights Act

Beginning in 1999, medical plans are required by law to provide the following benefits to women in connection with a mastectomy:
• Reconstruction of the breast on which the mastectomy was performed;
• Surgery and reconstruction of the other breast to produce a symmetrical appearance;
• Prostheses;
• Treatment of physical complications of all stages of mastectomy, including lymphedema.
Coverage for breast reconstruction and related services will be subject to the same coinsurance and deductible amounts that apply to other benefits under the Plan.
