Independence Blue Cross (IBX) and Jefferson Health are currently in contract negotiations.

If IBX and Jefferson Health do not reach a new agreement, Jefferson Health hospitals, facilities, and providers may no longer participate in the IBX provider network beginning January 1, 2027. In that case, services received from Jefferson Health providers could be considered out of network, depending on your coverage.
At this time, nothing has changed. Jefferson Health providers and facilities remain in the IBX network, and you can continue to use them. You don’t need to do anything.

We understand that you may receive communications from both IBX and Jefferson Health regarding these negotiations. The Fund is not involved in these discussions, but we are monitoring the situation closely.

While negotiations between health care organizations are outside of the Fund’s control, our priority is to help you understand how any changes may affect your health care coverage. If an agreement is not reached and network changes occur, we will provide additional information about provider options and any important steps you should consider.

We remain hopeful that the parties will reach an agreement and avoid any disruption for participants who use Jefferson Health providers and facilities.
